- 15km, 7-8 hours easy trekking through H’Mong villages of Sin Chai, Cat Cat, Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai and Ta Van Village.
AM: transfer downhill to Sin Chai. This village is a little off the usual trekking route and less visited, but offers the opportunity to see traditional wooden homes built using the indigenous Pumu tree. Then continue your easy trek 3km through rice terraces and small dwellings to Cat Cat – a small but bustling village situated at the foot of Fansipan Mountain. Here you will see traditional Hmong homes at their best, and you will be able to meet a Hmong family to learn more about their way of life. The village is also the perfect place to see traditional clothing being made, hemp being dyed and women weaving. Have picnic lunch enroute
PM: start the afternoon trekking down the the valley to see the hanging bridge. Next, we trek up the hill and through the rice terrace fields of the Black Hmong villages of Y Linh Ho and Lao Chai. Here we will discover their daily life and how they make traditional clothes, handicraft, indigo… We will visit the biggest valley which provides the best view for golden rice terrace fields in Vietnam. Continuing on to Ta Van Village you will visit the Giay minority people. This group traditionally fished for a living and as a result established themselves close to rivers. They have mastered the art of fishing with bamboo sticks, and cook the fish inside bamboo. Nowadays however you are more likely to see the Giay working in fields planting or harvesting rice. Visit to local house to learn about their daily life. Return to Sapa town.
