First dish is Hoi An Noodles (Cao Lau) – a thick noodle soup of pork or seafood after visit ancient well in Ba Le Well Lane on the edge of Hoi An’s Old Town. Second dish to taste is Vietnamese Water Fern Cake (Banh Bèo). Another highlight of local specialties is chicken rice, rice cooked in chicken stock and turmeric, mixed with shredded chicken, crushed onion, and Vietnamese spices. Continue your walk to your next stop to try White Rose Dumpling (Bánh bao, Bánh Vạc) which is made from rice flour and filled with spiced minced shrimp or pork. The most highlight of the food tour is Hoi An’s most delicious Bánh Mì, known as Vietnamese Baguette sandwich containing pickled vegetables, pâté, salad, and a filling of your choice.
