How far is it from Hanoi to Halong Bay?
Halong Bay is located 160 km away from Hanoi, this would take you about 3 – 3.5 hours in a private car to Halong city.

By Shuttle Bus: It costs you $25/ per person for this round trip. The 24 seater bus will pick you from your hotel and transfer you to Halong bay, and then transfer you back to your hotel in Hanoi on completion of your tour. You will share the bus with some others people from different hotels so the departure time will be roughly from 8AM – to 8.45AM. you need to be ready at your hotel lobby from 8.AM. It is a more economic proposition when a single person traveling.
Private Car: Using a private car is more convenient and more flexible for travelers. Our driver will be waiting for you at your hotel lobby at 8:00 AM. The travel time is a shorter because you don’t have to collect other passengers from other hotels in the morning peak hour traffic. This allows you more time for breaks, for tea, or a toilet stop along the way or to stop for photo opportunities, things you cannot do on a bus.( highly recommended )
As you can determine from the following prices, if traveler have more than one person travelling, a private vehicle is a better proposition, as the tariff can be divided by the number of people on board.
