4 DAYS HIGHLIGHTS OF MEKONG DELTA TOUR

DAY 1: CAN THO ARRIVAL – CA MAU          (D)        

Upon arrival at Can Tho international airport, you will be pick up by our guide and driver and depart for Ca Mau with stopover on the way to visit Bat Pagoda – the most unique and famous temple in Soc Trang. This place is considered a symbol of Buddhist culture of the Khmer in this region. Its features are architecture and fruit-eating horse bats living in the temple grounds.

Upon arrival in Ca Mau city, check in a hotel in the city center and relax. Have dinner with local specialty. At night, you are free to explore Ca Mau city at night. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2: CA MAU – NAM CAN – DAT MUI – CAN THO (B/L)

AM: depart for Nam Can, you get on a canoe to visit Dat Mui. Visit and take photos at the national coordinate landmark – GPS 0001, Pano symbol of the land of Cape Ca Mau. Then you conquer Vong Hai Dai 20.5m high to see the whole scene of Dat Mui …. visit the mangrove ecosystem in Ca Mau Cape National Park – the world biosphere reserve.

PM: After lunch, canoe back to Nam Can, get on the bus to Can Tho city. On the way, the group stopped to visit

– Visit Bac Lieu Prince’s House – where anecdotes and stories about Bac Lieu’s Prince are kept. In addition to visiting this unique system of ancient houses, you can also verify the stories with the son of Cong Tu Bac Lieu. Uncle is currently selling books and is a special witness of the legend of the Hac Cong Tu – the Duke of Bac Lieu.

– Bac Lieu Wind Power Project, located in the east of Bac Lieu City, with huge wind turbines, the landscape is very spectacular. Bac Lieu wind power is one of the first wind power plants in Vietnam.

Transfer back to Can Tho city, check in hotel and relax. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3: CAN THO – XEO QUYT – SA DEC (B/L)     

AM: depart your hotel and head to Xeo Quyt forest. You will see a vast swamp beneath a spectacular thick canopy of tall cajuput trees and vines. It hides the remains of secret Viet Cong (VC) bunkers, which can be seen on a marvelous 20-minute sampan ride inside the forest past old bunkers and on foot along with the shady walking paths. At Xeo Quyt forest, you can hear impactful historic stories during the guided walks. The chance to explore the Mekong River delta in a sampan boat is unique and unforgettable, and in these experiences, there is a surprising amount to feel and learn.

Then, take a visit to Kien An Cung antique Chinese temple in Sa Dec which is also known as Ong Quach Pagoda. Continue to explore Huynh Thuy Le’s ancient house which is famous for the romantic love story of Mr. Huynh Thuy Le and his L’amant (lover) – a well-known French writer Marguerite Duras. At this spot, you also enjoy Vietnamese authentic lunch meal at “the lovers’ house”

PM: Check in the 100-year-old Sa Dec flower village – known as the flower kingdom of the Mekong Delta. Sa Dec, Dong Thap is home to many kinds of flowers in the South of Vietnam. It is the biggest supplier of flowers to many cities in Vietnam and 50 varieties of roses for export. Finally, return to Can Tho city late in the same afternoon.

The rest of the time is free for your exploration. Overnight at hotel in Can Tho

DAY 4: CAN THO – DEPARTURE (B)

AM: Pick up at hotel and start to Ninh Kieu Harbor, boarding a local boat and head to Cai Rang  – Floating market – a must-visit place in Mekong delta. On the way to the market, you will see beautiful sunrise reflecting on the river; real local activities such as washing the clothes, catching fish or children swimming on the river. At the market, you will know the history, cultural values, bustling trading scene and amazing people there. Enjoy “floating noodle soup”, a cup of Vietnamese milk-coffee onboard and savor fresh pineapple on a local pineapple boat.

Transfer back to hotel for check out then transfer to the airport for your departure flight
