AM/PM: Visit to the Temple of Literature and Quoc Tu Giam, see Vietnam’s first university, constructed in 1070 – it’s gardens and well-preserved architecture will offer a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam’s past. Continue to a local tea house, where you can taste an array of greens teas and gain an insight into the significance of tea leaves in local cultures. Hoa Lo Prison Museum – ironically dubbed the ‘Hanoi Hilton’ by US POWs during the American War. Here you can see the remnants of the former prison and discover the history of the Vietnamese struggle for independence from France. Then, head to one of the largest and oldest churches in Hanoi – St Joseph’s Cathedral – and admire the Gothic architectural style, often compared to Notre Dame de Paris. Take you past Hoan Kiem Lake to see the peaceful waters, and take photo outside the beauty of Ngoc Son temple. you have the chance to stroll along Huc Bridge – featuring classical Vietnamese designs – that connects to a delightful island situated in the north part of the lake, to visit Ngoc Son temple. Enjoying a classic local delicacy for light lunch – a hot bowl of Vietnamese beef noodles (pho bo) or Chickend noodle ( pho ga) or BBQ pork noodle (Bun cha)..
